Sue Hicks

Sue Hicks has held the position of Physiotherapist since she qualified from Salford University in 2004. Qualified with a Bsc (Hons) Physiotherapy and BSc (Hons) Sport & Exercise Science Sue specialised in paediatrics.

After qualifying from Salford University in 2004 Sue was immediately employed by Knowsley PCT and worked full time as a junior rotational physiotherapist in many areas of physiotherapy including musculosketetal, orthopaedics, respiratory, neurological and paediatrics. She continued to gain this variety of experience at a senior level.

Since 2009 Sue has been working at a senior level with the community physiotherapy team at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.  This post involves the assessment and treatment of children aged 0-19 years with mild to complex needs in a variety of situations including special and mainstream schools and children’s homes.

Sue is highly trained in hydrotherapy 24 postural care, clinical measurements and Goldsmith assessments, she has vast experience of treating children and adults with respiratory complications.  She also has experience of treating children with development and co-ordination disorders.

A special interest of Sue’s is the treatment of children and adults with neurological conditions undergoing procedures for spasticity such as Botox injections.  She aims for her treatment sessions to be as fun and enjoyable as possible and to build a good relationship with the client and their family. Her ultimate professional goal is in enabling people to reach their full potential.
