Peter Sanderson, Clinical Director and Consultant Neurological Physiotherapist, has a wealth of experience working within neurological rehabilitation both in the private and public sector.

Peter is internationally recognized and published, leading in the field of neurological rehabilitation and regularly invited to share his skills, knowledge and experiences with national and international delegates.

As part of his profile, he has a proven track record in developing and establishing some of the leading services with neuro rehabilitation and spasticity services. He is undertaking research into patient outcomes to advance practice within the field of long-term neurological rehabilitation.

As Clinical Director of PSP Neuro and Paediatric Rehabilitation he has brought together both medics and healthcare professionals to provide some of the most advanced spasticity services in the UK. The unique multi-disciplinary team has a proven track record of developing and implementing effective approaches in the management of spasticity ensuring the individual’s needs are met.

Peter is a highly skilled clinician who has a wealth of experience and expertise in assessing and treating adults and children with neurological impairments including Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE), acquired brain injury, hypoxic brain injury
and spinal cord injuries. His specialist interest lies in upper limb spasticity, stroke rehabilitation and cerebral palsy.

Peter is a regular contributor to professional audits and clinical journals in the advancement of spasticity management. As part of his profile, he sits with international faculty’s establishing and adapting evidenced based practice publishing research and influencing global management algorithms to enhance patient care. As part of this role, he has contributed to two textbooks as a coauthor on the application of botulinum toxin.

Peter Has a position of Senior honorary lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire within in neuro rehabilitation to both pre and postgraduates. He also contributes to other recognized educational establishments.

Peter provides education and undertakes master classes in JCP, Spasticity
Management, Anatomy, including cadaveric workshops and the usage of Botulinum Toxin / chemo denervation rehabilitation.
