Senior Physiotherapist, Manual Handling Adviser & Risk Assessor

Nicola Benson is a highly experienced Senior Physiotherapist with over 20 years’ experience working across health and social care with both adults and children who have complex health needs and disabilities.

Nicola specialises in manual handling training, risk assessment and rehabilitation for individuals with complex physical and neurological needs. She has extensive experience supporting families, carers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, practical and person-centred care.

Alongside her physiotherapy work, Nicola delivers bespoke manual handling and respiratory training for carers and support teams, helping ensure safe care practices and confidence when supporting individuals with complex needs. She regularly works within patients’ homes and community environments, tailoring recommendations to each individual’s routines, equipment and care team.

Nicola also provides hydrotherapy assessments and develops aquatic therapy programmes to support rehabilitation goals. She works closely with multidisciplinary teams including occupational therapists, case managers and care providers to support coordinated rehabilitation and long-term care planning.

Nicola holds a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from the University of Central Lancashire and is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the Health and Care Professions Council.
