At PSP, we’re continually looking for innovative ways to improve the rehabilitation experience and support better outcomes for the children and adults we work with.
That’s why we’re pleased to announce our partnership with Lusio Rehab and our investment in the LusioMATE platform.
Addressing one of rehabilitation’s biggest challenges
Rehabilitation doesn’t only happen during therapy sessions.
Much of the progress people make comes from practising skills and exercises between appointments. However, maintaining motivation and engagement outside of formal therapy sessions can often be challenging.
For many individuals, particularly those living with neurological conditions, repetitive exercises can become difficult to sustain over time.
LusioMATE has been designed to help overcome this challenge by transforming therapeutic movements into engaging, interactive activities that encourage participation and support consistency.
What is LusioMATE?
LusioMATE combines wearable sensors with interactive activities that can be tailored to an individual’s goals, abilities and therapy programme.
The technology allows therapists to create personalised movement goals and monitor progress, while users receive real-time feedback through game-based activities designed to make rehabilitation more engaging and rewarding.
The platform can be used across a wide range of rehabilitation settings and supports both gross and fine motor skill development.
Why PSP chose Lusio
As a specialist neurorehabilitation provider, PSP is committed to combining clinical expertise with innovative solutions that enhance the rehabilitation journey.
We believe technology should never replace clinical expertise, but when used appropriately it can be a powerful tool to increase engagement, encourage independence and support individuals to achieve their goals.
Joanna Simpson, Paediatric Specialist Physiotherapist and Clinical Lead at PSP, said:
“One of the biggest challenges in rehabilitation can be maintaining engagement between therapy sessions. Lusio provides an innovative way to make therapeutic activities more motivating, whilst still being tailored to an individual’s specific goals and abilities. We’re excited to begin using the technology with the people we support.”
Already generating interest
We recently showcased Lusio technology during a training session delivered to professionals at HCML, where it sparked discussions around the role of technology in rehabilitation and how innovative tools can help improve client engagement.
The positive response reinforced our belief that technology has an important role to play alongside clinical expertise in supporting rehabilitation outcomes.
Looking ahead
We’re excited to begin incorporating Lusio into our rehabilitation programmes and exploring the positive impact it can have on client engagement and outcomes.
As we start using the technology with clients, we’ll be sharing more about how it is being used in practice and the difference it is making to the people we support.
At PSP, we’re passionate about finding new ways to help individuals achieve their goals, maximise their independence and engage meaningfully in rehabilitation. Lusio is another step forward in that commitment.
