Hand therapy

Specialist rehabilitation to restore hand function, strength, and independence following injury or neurological conditions.

At PSP, our expert hand therapists provide comprehensive assessment and evidence-based treatment to help clients regain movement, dexterity, and confidence in everyday activities.
We work with both adults and children – supporting recovery from trauma, surgery, and neurological conditions that affect the upper limb.

Specialist assessment and rehabilitation

Every hand is unique – and so is every rehabilitation plan. Our clinicians assess strength, movement, and function to design individualised therapy programmes that meet each client’s goals.

We treat:

  • Hand and upper limb injuries
  • Tendon and nerve repairs
  • Fractures and post-surgical recovery
  • Spasticity and tone-related hand dysfunction
  • Neurological conditions such as brain injury, stroke, and cerebral palsy
  • Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS)

Our goal is to restore mobility, dexterity, and function. This enables clients to return to the activities that matter most.

Working within a multidisciplinary team

Our hand therapists collaborate closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and consultants within PSP’s neuro and paediatric teams.
This joined-up approach ensures that tone management, splinting, and functional rehabilitation work seamlessly together.

We also maintain detailed communication with case managers, solicitors, and NHS teams, providing regular progress reports and expert clinical input.

  • Evidence-based: founded on current research and clinical best practice.
  • Client-focused: therapy goals are tailored to each person’s needs and lifestyle.
  • Flexible delivery: available in clinics, homes, or community and school settings.

Referral and access

We welcome referrals from consultants, case managers, solicitors, and the NHS.
